Tom has been a Varsity Soccer player at Tempe High School since 1990. He is not new to All-City Banquets, having been selected to the All-City Soccer Team in 1991 as a Defender, and 1993 as a Midfielder. Tom was named the Most Valuable Player for Tempe High this past season, and was also All-Region Sweeper in 1991, All-Region Midfielder in 1993, and All-State Midfielder in 1993.
Tom has excelled in both athletics and academics. He finished 9th in a class of 333, and posted a 4.22 grade point average, putting him in the top 3% of his graduating class.
In addition to special honors, Tom has been active in numerous organizations on and off the Tempe High campus. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Auto Buffs, Principal's Advisory Committee, and Student Council. Tom also attended Boys State, and was nominated for the A.I.A. Athlete of the Year Award. He also has been active in our community with the Boy Scouts, church Youth Group, and helping St. Vincent de Paul as a volunteer.
Tom is the son of Neil & Jan McConahay of Tempe.
