Hunter is the son of Danville Rodriguez and Connie Watson. He is a senior at Desert Vista High School with a GPA of 3.5 and in the top 40% of his graduating class.
Selected as a quarterback to the 2012 All-City Football team, Hunter has also been selected to the 2012 All-City Baseball team as a pitcher and 1st baseman. He is a 1st team quarterback AIA All-Section award winner and 2nd team quarterback on the Rawlings 2012 All-Southwest team.
Hunter was the captain of his football and basketball team. He is involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Younglife, and volunteers in his community; giving baseball lessons to young children and umpiring in Pony League baseball games.
