Ellery has been a multi-sport athlete at Tempe High. This past season he specialized in Wrestling and has been an All-City Wrestler the past two years.
Ellery has received special recognition at the state and national levels. He has been All Region in 2001, 2002, and 2003, Honorable Mention All-State in 2002, and First Team All-State this past Wrestling season. Ellery finished this past season with thirty-four pins, and a perfect forty-four win, zero loss record. He was the State Champion in the 215 lb weight class.
On the national level Ellery finished in sixth place at the 2003 NHSCA Senior Nationals, where he was named All-American.
Ellery ranks 57th in a class of 305, maintaining a 3.4 grade point average. He is involved in school activities such as National Honor Society, Drama, Choir, and Orchestra. As a freshman he was Class President and Class Vice President as a sophomore.
Ellery is the son of Debra Tarazon.
