Christian earned varsity letters in Football and Track at Marcos de Niza High School. He also received the 1990 Scholar Athlete Award from the Valley of the Sun Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. He was All-City Defensive End, and All-Region second team. Christian's school athletic honors include Scholar-Athlete for 1990, and Most Valuable Defensive Lineman for 1990.
He has excelled in both athletics and academics, finishing 11th in a class of 510 and posted a 4.3 grade point average, putting him in the top 3% of his graduating class.
In addition to special honors, Christian has been active in numerous organization on and off campus. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Youth Co-Chairman for Grad Night, Boy's Representative to the Student Council for three years, and serves as Student Body Vice President this year. He also was selected to Arizona Boy's State, Youth Town Hall and served as president of his church youth group.
Christian plans to attend Georgetown next year.
He is the son of Charles & Lilly Shults of Tempe.
