Alyssa has been an outstanding athlete at Marcos de Niza since her freshman year. She is not new to All-City banquets, having been selected to the All-City Softball team in 1989, 90, 91, and 92. Alyssa has been an All-City Basketball honoree in 1990, 91, and 92. She was named to the East Valley All Region team in Softball all four years, and has been an all region player in Basketball her sophomore, junior, and senior years.
Alyssa is also one of the Padres top students, with a 4.0 grade point average, ranks her 42nd in a graduating class of 471.
During her junior year Alyssa was named to the All State Softball team, and was player of the year. Alyssa has received national recognition. She was honored by ESPN Scholastic Sports of America, was on the McDonalds Honor , and was named to the USA Today All-American Basketball team.
